How to Create an Entity Connected to Xero

AVA allows you to connect with your client’s Xero account. Data from the Xero account will be used when calculating metrics and KPIs displayed on the dashboard and reports.

An entity here refers to each separate client account. If your client has multiple businesses, you will need to link each business to the Xero account that handles its transactions separately.

Here’s a step by step guide for creating and linking each entity that uses Xero accounting software.

Step 1: Click on the ADD ENTITY button at the top right-hand corner of the entity dashboard.

Click Select on Add Entity

Step 2: An ENTITY INFORMATION box will pop up on your screen. Click on the company section and enter the details requested. If all the company details are the same as in Xero details, you can skip this step.

Click Select on Company

Step 3: When you’re done, click on the DATA section of the same pop-up box.

Click Select on Data

Step 4: You will be given the option to select from different data sources. Click on the Xero logo.

Select Xero as Data Source

Step 5: The system will take you to the Xero portal. You will receive this prompt to allow AVA access to Xero data.

How to Connect Xero

Step 6: Once you allow the system access, you will be asked to select a source of data. Select the entity’s Xero account which you want AVA to access. If your client has multiple Xero accounts you will be asked to re-confirm your choice. Hit the continue button to proceed.

Selecting a Data Source

Step 7: You will be redirected back to the AVA account pop-up box on the entities dashboard. Hit the save button to confirm your selection.

Select Xero as Data

And that’s it; your entity will now appear on the dashboard with the Xero logo below the details.

Creating a Demo Account

Use the same steps for all your entities that use Xero data. Once all your entities line up on the dashboard, you’re ready to get into superhero advisor mode — improving your clients’ business’ and raising your profits.
